Car Wash/ Camp Parent Meeting

Dear Parents,
                               If you would like to help with the car wash or team camp we will be having a meeting Wednesday June 5th from 7-8pm  in the high school cafeteria. If you cannot make it but would still like to help just email me or text me and let me know, and I will get back to you with what we might need help with. June Calendar

Just to clarify even though there aren't practice times on your June calendar for the week after camp we still have practice that week and the week after. The practice times will be the same Monday Wednesday and Friday 7:00-10:30 Tuesday and Thursday 5:00-8:00. Depending on how well they do at camp I might give them Monday June 24th off. Then the week of the fourth we will practice Monday Wednesday 7:00-10:30 and Tuesday night 5:00-8:00 then on Thursday the fourth we will just get together for the parade then the girls are excused and we wont have practice again until August 5th. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding the summer schedule. Thanks

Statements

I will be emailing out statements tonight let me know if you don't receive one by tomorrow. If you are trying to pay online it might not be set up until next week. Carolyn is trying to get all new sports set up and is a little swamped right now so if its not set up to pay online by Friday check back on Monday the 3rd. Details For Saturdays Fallen Brother Event

Very Important Please Make Sure To Read The Entire Post Please

On Saturday We Will Meet at 3:30 pm out on the high school football field in clothes that you would be comfortable walking in. (Remember your pasta salad and please bring it in a throw away container) Please no Spaghetti Strap Tanks, Bellies Showing, or Bootie Shorts. I don't mind if you wear tank tops or shorts just look respectable please. The walk starts at 4:00 pm sharp. After the walk we will go into the dance room and get ready for blood alley and practice. For blood alley you need to wear your black shirt with the pirate skull you got at our team party, with black leggings (please wear black tights under) and black dance shoes (if you don't have any ask girls if you can borrow some our new ones wont be here yet). Hair will be down and curled. Make up can be what you want just needs to be classy and enough so I can tell you are wearing some. We will have about 45 minutes to get ready so if you want to bring a curling iron to touch up your hair and fix your make up you will have time. We will line up and get ready to do blood alley at 6:15. After we do blood alley/flag ceremony we will eat dinner then go and get ready for the concert performance. The attire just needs to be something country (something you would wear to a rodeo) it can be plaid shirt, with jean pants or shorts, boots, just something creative. If you don't have anything I am sure out of the 36 girls on our team some girls will have stuff you can borrow. The dance is suppose to be super easy remember morning practice Thursday and Friday for that from 6-7 am. You will perform for the concert around 8:30 pm Saturday. after we perform and the concert is over they need help cleaning up it shouldn't take long with all of us. This is going to be a busy day but I am excited it should be really fun and this is a really neat event. Please let me know if you have any questions at all. Blood Alley This Year Is Going To Be Amazing!!!

Hope you girls all enjoyed your weekend. Reminder USANA run through tonight at 6:00 pm. Tomorrow practice from 3:30-6:30. I am still waiting to hear if we are OK to do the tumbling class at the school tomorrow night. I will post on the blog tonight or text you when I know if its a for sure thing, but if it is it will be tomorrow night 8:15-9:30 pm in the gym, we would need at least 30 girls to come, so let me know if your interested. We will have stations for every level so everyone should stay busy the whole time, but I will keep you posted on whether its a go or not. Remember morning practice in the main gym Thursday and Friday from 6-7 am and after school practice Friday 3:30-6:30. As soon as I get the details on what to wear for our performance with cheer, dance co, and sbo's I will post all the details for Saturday on here. Next Weeks Schedule

No Practice Monday or Tuesday. Tuesday at 6:00 pm is the USANA run through we will just meet there. Wednesday After School Practice From 3:30-6:30. Thursday morning we have practice for the country dance thing from 6-7 am (come with hair and make up done because you will only have time to touch up and change clothes) No after school practice Thursday. Friday morning practice from 6-7 and after school practice from 3:30 - 6:30 - Service project for May right after practice that day. We are going to help set up for the Fallen Brothers Activity. It shouldn't take long especially with all of us. And everyone will get a dinner ticket for $5.00 instead of $10.00. We will have an ice cream party after just on the field for some team bonding. So for Friday I would plan on being done with everything around 7:30-8:00 pm. Saturday June 1st is the Fallen Brothers activity. Plan on arriving at 3:30 and staying until its done. This is a great opportunity we have to help with this. We will participate in the walk at 4:00 then do the dinner, blood alley (everyone is doing blood alley), then getting ready for the concert performance. Then we need to stay after and help pick up it wont take long. I am excited it will be a fun day spent with all of you. Practice Friday May 24th

Dear Spinnakers and Parents,
                                   Just a heads up, due to Memorial Day Weekend, and families wanting to get going on their vacations they planned, practice will be from 3:30-5:00 on Friday. I hope you all have a safe and wonderful memorial day weekend. We have only practiced 3 days and you girls are doing a great job. I get more and more excited for this year every time we get together. Keep up the hard work I am so proud and so grateful to have everyone of you on the team. xoxoxo

USANA Run Through

Dear Parents and Spinnakers,

                                 If you are planning on working any concerts at USANA this year they would like for us to come out to the facility to and do a run through of how every thing works, and what they would like us to do. We need to do it before our first concert so we are hoping Tuesday May 28th at 6:00 pm will work for everyone. It shouldn't take more than an hour and this should be the last thing we have to do before we work. Thank you for being so willing to help and do what needs to be done so we can get this going. Practice Attire

Dear Spinnakers,

                                 I am so excited to start practice tomorrow. I know this week will be crazy with a bunch having to come late or leave early, so our goal for this week is to get our hip hop learned and 1/2 of it cleaned, and to start learning the commands and proper technique for sabre. So be aware if you miss any practice this week it will be VERY important to be caught up every day. This week will be lite on the conditioning but still make sure to bring lots of water, running shoes, and dance shoes. As far as what to wear...you can wear what you want all week except Tuesday you need to be in all black. Make sure your attire is easy to move in and something you are comfortable in. Please let me know if you have any questions. This week will be intense as I will be making sure our hip hop is looking good so we can perform it on June 1st. Make sure you eat good meals every day and get plenty of sleep I need your best every single day. Thank You. xoxox

Tumbling Class For Saturday

Synergy has their last competition this weekend so Shelbi wont be at the studio until 1:00 so if there were a lot planning on going to the 8:30-9:30 she said come from 2:30-3:30 if there are just a few she said just jump in with the 1:30-2:30 class. Just let me know if you are in the 8:30-9:30 what you would rather do ASAP thanks girl. xoxox If you don't have the money to attend class I would be happy to meet you girls a couple nights or stay after practices so you can pull out the mats and work on them, all you need to do is ask. I know you girls are determined to get them and I love it. You might not be close now but with total dedication and hard work I know you girls should all be able to do it. Never give up.

Beer Handling Class

Parents we were able to get another class put together this is the last one we will be able to do as all permits are due the 24th of this month. The new class will be held Monday the 20th at 7:00 pm in the high school cafeteria. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks

Clarifying Schedule

Just wanted to clarify with all you girls because I think I confused some with the last post on practice so here is the schedule one more time hopefully a little bit better understood. This week we only have the flex/tech class Thursday from 3-5 (this is not mandatory). Starting on Monday the 20th until Friday the 24th (these are mandatory) we will practice everyday after school form 3:30-6:30 in the dance room/gym. On Tuesday the 21st plan on practice going longer because we need to make sure we finish learning our routine as we will be performing it at the fallen brothers event June 1st. The following week we will only have practice Wednesday the 29th and Friday the 31st from 3:30-6:30 just to make sure our routine is looking perfected and ready to perform it. These practice are going to be very important so if you miss any of them I trust that you will make sure you learn what you miss before you come back to practice so everyday we can move on and continue to get better and better. Thanks for understanding and for your efforts. You girls are amazing I am so excited to get started. Remember if you do have to leave early, come late, or miss a practice to let me know in advance.

(Last thing, for May practices don't worry about having your hand weights yet. Just make sure you bring water, running shoes, and dance shoes everyday. No jewelry on and hair is pulled back. Thank you. We will start our intense summer practice and conditioning June 10th xoxoxo)

So Excited That Practice Starts In A Week. Permits

We have to have all copies of permits if you are going to work USANA by May 20th at the latest if you haven't taken your classes by then or either emailed / turned in a copy of your permits we will have to start assigning concerts out to other people that did. I don't do this to be a brat but we HAVE to have permits this year for every concert and its just for your safety, so please let me know if you have any questions. If we need to set up another beer handlers class we can just let me know ASAP. You can also take both courses online. Thanks for understanding I know these concerts will be a great and quick way to pay off your daughters accounts. We still have openings July 5th, August 1st, and September 2nd let me know if anyone would like to get signed up for any of those dates :).

Car Wash

OK everyone!! The car wash is set for June 29th at the Zions Bank Parking Lot in Magna from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. I will divide the girls up into either the 8:30-12:30 shift or the 12:30 to 4:30 shift so each girl will only work 4 hours. If you have a prior commitment that day and one shift will work better than the other let me know by June 1st, otherwise the shift they are in is where they will need to stay. On June 10th the girls will receive their tickets for the car wash that they need to presale. Each girl will be required to presale 10 ($5.00) tickets, so maybe start putting the word in people ear so it wont be so hard to sale come June.This is a team fundraiser that will be going towards costuming since this year we have to buy all new costumes which is exciting but pricy so please be committed and get your tickets sold. We will have a parent meeting in June so if you would like to help out in any way come to that meeting. I don't have a set time or date yet for the meeting but as soon as I do I will post it up on the blog. Thanks again for all your help and support.

Beer Handling Class

Dear Parents just a reminder the beer handling class is this Thursday at 6:00 pm in the high school cafeteria. The class is $20.00 and will last about an hour. Fallen Brothers Fundraiser

Dear Spinnakers and Parents,

                             June 1st is the annual Fallen Brothers Fundraiser and the Spinnakers have always have had the privilege of helping out with this. This will be my first year being able to participate in this and I am very excited the Spinnakers get to be such a huge help. There is some very important info in this post and I need you to either email or text me back as soon as you read this please and thank you :). So the first thing they have asked us to do is have each girl donate a pasta salad that will feed about 15-20 people.You will just need to bring it with you that night and they will have a fridge to store it in. If this will be a problem please let me know ASAP otherwise if each girl can donate a pasta salad for the dinner that would be great. The next item is the 5K Walk that they would like each girl to participate in. There is a $10.00 entry fee or only $5.00 if you don't want the shirt, but this will be our team service project for the month, participating in the walk. Supposedly the shirts are cool but if money is an issue you are fine to just pay the $5.00 just let me know what you are planning on doing. The walk will start at 4:00 pm. Then after the walk we will be getting ready to do flag and blood alley and possibly a performance at the night events and concert. Because of the possibility of us performing  I need to know who absolutely cant be there as soon as possible. This is going to be a mandatory team activity. They will be serving dinner there which will be $10.00 a person if we could eat together as a team that would be great. Again please talk to me if money is going to be an issue. I do feel bad because it seems like a lot of money  has been asked from you parents lately and I try to keep that to a minimum, but this event is really important to Magna and to Cyprus High and I know this will be an awesome team unity activity and would love for us to do it all together, so please communicate with me if the total $15-$20.00 fee for that night will be a problem. Otherwise just make sure you send that money with your daughter that night because we just pay when we get there. Parents you are welcome to participate in any of the activities that you would like. I will post more details about the performance and blood alley when they are given to me. I just wanted you girls to be aware of this and parents to know about it and the financial situation so you can plan accordingly if you need to. This will be a really neat night and a great opportunity for the community to come together to help prevent suicide, bullying, and drug/alcohol abuse. USANA Concert Openings

                                     There have been some more opening for concerts this summer. If you did not get the opportunity to sign up for any at the meeting and would like to please contact me asap and let me know which ones you would like to work. Flexibilty/ Technique Class

Just a reminder no class tomorrow night because dance co tryouts will be going on all night and there will not available space. Hope to see you Friday if not then next week.
